Anyone would find it ironic that a show about a motorcycle gang is based in a town called Charming, something biker gangs are not really known for being. That is the town which the FX show Sons of Anarchy is based.
Man is by nature a primal beast. We are suppose to take what we want, do what we want, and be what we want damn the consequences. But since man has evolved into organized societies this mentality just does not work anymore. Although most of us have gotten the picture (to some extant) there are some that look at the monkey throwing poo at the zoo and think, “Cool.”

I can remember when this show first came on television (I have a knack for remembering obscure things). The concept of a crime/ mystery show centered on a detective that has every phobia known to mankind did not seem interesting at all; it just seemed weird.

Science fiction generally requires lots of special effects. Special effects require money; the more a producer is willing to spend the better the effects. Good science fiction can be turned out without dropping a boat load of cash if your writers are exceptional.
