Any self respecting basketball fan cannot help but feel at least a smidgen of sympathy for the New Jersey Nets.

In case you haven’t heard, former boxing heavyweight champion/ felon (I believe the conviction was sexual assault)/ wife beater/ has-been Mike Tyson is back in a jail cell for allegedly punching a photographer while travelling with his wife and daughter last Wednesday. The incident occurred at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Well done Yankees. Congratulations on a series well played. You guys are truly the best in baseball.

Vince Young won his second game of the year on Sunday. It just so happen to be the second one for the Titans all year as well. Larry Johnson, former two-time Pro Bowler and first round pick back in 2003, was cut from the Kansas City Chiefs.

My record from last week shows why I do not gamble. Like the rest of the masses, I was about 50-50. A record like that does not bode well in Vegas at all. Hopefully this week I can do better.

The team I want to watch this week is the high-flying, through-the-roof-scoring, their cheerleaders are smoking Phoenix Suns.

Phoenix has been known for a fast paced, score more than the next guy style of play for some years now.

All sorts of strange things are going on in the world of New York sports. The Giants can’t seem to get a win (and barely a touchdown) while forgetting how to play defense the last three weeks.

Maybe now I’ll be right more often than I’m wrong. Either way I will be enjoying a rather pleasant feeling that will come from drinking a few Samuel Smith’s Winter Welcome ales.
