Shootin’ The Boot – Pro Football, Turkey, and You

In honor of the former Lou Groza award winner raise a glass of a beer made famous with the help of Michael Myers in the movie So I Married an Axe Murderer, McEwan’s Scotch Ale (his Dad drank it). This ale pours a nice dark reddish color and smells very sweet, like toffee and caramel. Your taste buds are not disappointed as toffee and caramel flavors dominate your palate. Not too heavy and not too light, this beer is a pleasure to drink and will leave you wanting more. Be careful though, at 8% ABV this one will kick you in the head in no time.

Fans in Georgia will agree that the Terrapin Big Hoppy Monster can turn people into just that- big, sloppy monsters. This ale made by the Terrapin Beer Company in Athens, Georgia comes in at a whopping 8.75% ABV. An collection of malts (2-Row Pale, Munich, Crystal 20, Crystal 30, Crystal 45, Crytal 77) and hops (Warrior, Centennial, Cascade, Ahtanum, Simco) combine to make this tantalizing red ale that is so good you forget what the alcohol content is going to turn you into until your friends tell you what you did the next day.
