The Vancouver Olympics had a bit of everything. There was tragedy prior to the opening of the games with the death of Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili, the torch snafu that left Canadian hockey great Wayne Gretzky standing, prostitutes getting media training, and oh yeah- lots of great competition.

I love the Olympics. I think it is great that a competition exists that allows athletes from all over the world to test their skills against the best. Few things can say that they have evolved throughout time to stay in touch with the sporting world as it changed and evolved without giving up the original competitions that the Games are known for.

This season seemed to be one of destiny or the Indianapolis Colts. Seven times before Sunday they appeared set to take a hard loss on the nose only to see victory snatched out of the claws of defeat with late game heroics by the future Hall of Famer, Peyton Manning. Eighth time would not be the charm for the Colts as they fell to the Saints 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV.
Championship Sunday has come and gone making there one real game and one not so real game (the Pro Bowl) of pro football left. After watching the two games played Sunday, fans are undoubtedly in store for something special in two weeks when the Sunday’s winners meet in Super Bowl XLIV.
