I have been writing for as long as I can remember. Some of my better relationships were long distance ones that relied on snail mail and AT&T. Talk to any of my exes and I am sure they will agree. I like Beer; it makes me a jolly good fellow (I don't know the rest of the song). I want to take this chance to say farewell to a beer in my 'younger' days I was quite familiar with- Olympia. Let's face it folks- we have all had those times when we really wanted to get ripped and we did not have the money for enough Guinness, Bass, or even Bud Lite to do so. For $5 a case of ice cold Olympia sure hit the spot. Recently I learned that the brewery that produced this affordable concoction closed in 2003. I haven't had an Olympia ice cold or otherwise in years, but I must admit to feeling a little nostalgic when I heard the news. I was a little saddened. It's not like I ever intended on drinking this fine brew ever again. Back in the day, Olympia was like one of the gang- now part of the gang ha passed on. Farewell Olympia. Tonight I will tip a Shiner Bock (or two...or three...or four...) in your honor.
This show is as close to real reality than most reality shows in construction today. What keeps it from being totally real is the genre itself. No one goes on reality television without some expectation of stardom, fame, or popularity so believing 100% in the therapy relationship is kind of hard here.
Travis Pulver, entertainment writer, compares and contrasts V (1983) and V (2009). Will the new version live up to the old one?
My record from last week shows why I do not gamble. Like the rest of the masses, I was about 50-50. A record like that does not bode well in Vegas at all. Hopefully this week I can do better.
You have to try Samichlaus, an Austrian Lager! Aged for 10 months before being distributed, this medium bodied, malty concoction weighs in at a robust 14% ABV. I dare anyone to drink a six pack and not laugh at this show!
The team I want to watch this week is the high-flying, through-the-roof-scoring, their cheerleaders are smoking Phoenix Suns.
Phoenix has been known for a fast paced, score more than the next guy style of play for some years now.
All sorts of strange things are going on in the world of New York sports. The Giants can’t seem to get a win (and barely a touchdown) while forgetting how to play defense the last three weeks.
A sketch comedy show deserves to be paired with a beer that will make you laugh before your drunk like Golden Era Imperial Pilsner from the people at the Dogfish Head Brewery.
I decided to drink Maierfest Lager from the good people at the Rogue Brewery. This brew is as close to an Oktoberfest beer that the Rogue Brewery gets. Made from Oktoberfest 2633 Yeast, three different malts, and Oregon Perle Hops this dark gold colored German lager has a rich malty aroma and a dry, refreshing taste.
