I have been writing for as long as I can remember. Some of my better relationships were long distance ones that relied on snail mail and AT&T. Talk to any of my exes and I am sure they will agree. I like Beer; it makes me a jolly good fellow (I don't know the rest of the song). I want to take this chance to say farewell to a beer in my 'younger' days I was quite familiar with- Olympia. Let's face it folks- we have all had those times when we really wanted to get ripped and we did not have the money for enough Guinness, Bass, or even Bud Lite to do so. For $5 a case of ice cold Olympia sure hit the spot. Recently I learned that the brewery that produced this affordable concoction closed in 2003. I haven't had an Olympia ice cold or otherwise in years, but I must admit to feeling a little nostalgic when I heard the news. I was a little saddened. It's not like I ever intended on drinking this fine brew ever again. Back in the day, Olympia was like one of the gang- now part of the gang ha passed on. Farewell Olympia. Tonight I will tip a Shiner Bock (or two...or three...or four...) in your honor.
New York fans please don’t be mad at me when I say this, but I have to recognize when someone achieves greatness:
Congratulations Dallas Braden.
A-rod did not think you warranted listening to when you spoke your mind about him breaking one of baseball’s unwritten rules. Since you had not done anything yet, you did not deserve to be listened to by someone like him.
Fellow celebrities are people to and are allowed to have feelings about other celebrities. Unlike the majority of us however, there is usually someone listening to them and broadcasting his or her opinion to the rest of us. After all, who does not like a good piece of gossip?
I have to say many thanks to the Phoenix Suns for the way they are intending on making a statement Wednesday night. What they are doing is proof positive that you do not …
With the final pick of the draft, the Detroit Lions reverted back to the Matt Millen days and chose a wide receiver, Tim Toone of Weber State. Maybe since they waited to the end of the draft to take this one, he’ll actually work out (in case you were not aware, the genius that was Matt Millen took three wide receivers with the team’s first round pick when he was GM- they all failed miserably).
Four Reasons Why Butler is better than Duke
Regardless of what happens during the NCAA championship game Monday night, you will not be able to convince me that Duke is better than Butler.
What?! Dude, are you crazy?! No- well, at least not yet; stay with me.
Well I don’t know about you, but all these upsets, overtime games, and come from behind thrilling victories have totally killed my bracket this year. I like to see a good game like everyone else, but gosh darn it I like winning a couple hundred dollars better.
Crime dramas are a dime a dozen these days and sadly they are almost all roughly the same. That is, except for the newest one to hit the airwaves, FX’s Justified.
America may be surprised by a little school from a President Clinton’s home state or from a small South Carolina town. Whichever one wins on Tuesday may be in line for the upset of the year when they line up against Duke on Thursday.
