I have been writing for as long as I can remember. Some of my better relationships were long distance ones that relied on snail mail and AT&T. Talk to any of my exes and I am sure they will agree. I like Beer; it makes me a jolly good fellow (I don't know the rest of the song). I want to take this chance to say farewell to a beer in my 'younger' days I was quite familiar with- Olympia. Let's face it folks- we have all had those times when we really wanted to get ripped and we did not have the money for enough Guinness, Bass, or even Bud Lite to do so. For $5 a case of ice cold Olympia sure hit the spot. Recently I learned that the brewery that produced this affordable concoction closed in 2003. I haven't had an Olympia ice cold or otherwise in years, but I must admit to feeling a little nostalgic when I heard the news. I was a little saddened. It's not like I ever intended on drinking this fine brew ever again. Back in the day, Olympia was like one of the gang- now part of the gang ha passed on. Farewell Olympia. Tonight I will tip a Shiner Bock (or two...or three...or four...) in your honor.

Knowing- Rating: B

Knowing was not exactly what I thought it was going to be. In a way though, that ended up being a good thing.

Swing Vote – Rating: C

Swing Vote is a politician’s worst nightmare. After the millions of dollars spent on advertising, months on the campaign trail, hundreds of babies kissed, and thousands of donors’ rear ends –well, kissed, the entire election comes down to the vote of an uneducated, unemployed, beer swilling single father with a kid smarter than him. Ha!

Paul Blart: Mall Cop – Rating: A

Remember those movies that you would watch on Saturday afternoons growing up (or in college and too drunk/ hung over to care) that were just incredibly dumb, but somehow you just could not bring yourself to change the channel?

Babylon A.D. – Rating: D

Movies can do a great many things. They can make us laugh, cry, grip the edge of our seats, and believe in the unbelievable. They have been known to spotlight social issues and even be the vehicle for change. Sadly, Babylon A.D. tries to do all of those things.
