August 1, 2009 – Gnarly Barley Brew Festival at Larimer County Fair and Rodeo (Loveland, CO)
The Larimer County Fair and Rodeo is celebrating their 130th year of Fair Time from July 31st – August 4th.  On August 1st, the fair will be hosting the Gnarly Barley Brew Festival from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, which is free to attend.  There will be food and beer demonstrations, microbrew sampling, a people’s choice award, brew master’s stage, and live music!  For more information and a schedule of events, please visit or contact Kyra Schwartz at

August 1, 2009 – Brewer’s One Night Stand (Naples, ME)
Tired of going to bars and seeing that your favorite beer isn’t on tap that night?  On August 1st, Bray’s Brewpub and Eatery is having every beer they make on tap.  They will have over 25 of their brews available for you to enjoy while playing horseshoes in the bier garten and listening to live bands!  For a full list of the beers that will be available on tap and for more information, visit

August 1, 2009 – A Midsummer Day’s Ales at Murphy’s Bleachers (Chicago, IL)
Presented by the Chicago Beer Society and Murphy’s Bleachers, make sure to get your tickets fast to enjoy food, beer, and Murphy’s rooftop!  The beers served will be session beers and summer seasonals, complete with APA’s, brown ales, and some new additions.  For tickets and more information, check out

August 1 – 2, 2009 – 13th Annual Beer and Bluegrass Festival (Keystone, CO)
Food, beer, and music… what else could you need?!  Between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00p.m., 30 microbreweries from Colorado will be showing off their best brews that you can enjoy in the Beer Garden while listening to live acoustic bluegrass music.  And don’t worry, the kids will be entertained with extreme games and inflatables!  Click here or call 970.496.4386 for more information.

August 2, 2009 – Great Boulder Beer Festival (Boulder, CO)
Stop by the Millennium Harvest House on August 2nd to taste the beers that are only brewed in Boulder! There will be live music, food, and beer from local breweries.  Website to be announced.

August 4, 2009 – Budweiser Comparison Week (New York, NY)
Come check out how Budweiser compares to other “real” beers.  With every “real” beer you purchase, Rattle ‘N’ Hum will give you a free half pint of Budweiser so that you can draw your own conclusions!  Email or go to for more information.

August 4, 2009 – Summer Beer Night (New York, NY)

August 4-8, 2009 – Great British Beer Festival (Earls Court, London, England, UK) Tue 4th 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. – Wed 5th to Fri 7th 12:00 noon to 10:30 p.m. – Sat 8th 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Organized by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), The GBBF is the UK’s largest beer festival with more than 700 Real Ales, ciders and perrys, and foreign beers; tutored tastings; food; entertainment; bar games and quizzes; and the “Champion Beer of Britain Competition.”  For information:

August 5, 2009 – Schell’s Anniversary Beer Tasting (Coon Rapids, MN)

August 7 – 9, 2009 – 21st Annual Bayfront Blues Festival (Duluth, MN)
Don’t forget to get your tickets to this exciting festival!  There will be over 30 musicians performing, beer from Grain Belt and Schell’s, as well as food from 8 different vendors.  The surrounding bars and nightclubs will also be hosting performers so that you don’t have to stop having fun just because the festival is over!  See for ticket information, scheduling inquiries, and all other details.

August 8, 2009 – Great Taste of the Midwest (Madison, WI)
Wtih over 500 beers, 105 breweries, and a view of lake Mendota.. how can you possibly find a better way to spend your Saturday?!  As you wander around the festival, grab a program book so that you can learn about all of the different beers that you sample.  Don’t forget to stop by the Charity Dunk Tank to dunk brewers and beer journalists for a great cause! August 8, 2009 – Buffalo Brewfest (Buffalo, NY)
Don’t miss your opportunity to enjoy cold beer, lots of food, and music by the Black Widow Band, Buffalo Jills, Buffalo Bandettes, and the Queen Gity Roller Girls!  There will be special beer inspired foods for you to try as well as custom handpainted adirondack chairs being raffled off.  All proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center Foundation.  Visit for more information.

August 8, 2009 – North Fork Craft Beer, BBQ & Wine Festival (Riverhead, NY)

August 8 – 9, 2009 – 7th Annual Brewgrass (Manitou Springs, CO)
Show your support for more open space in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs while drinking handcrafted lagers from over 20 different states, listening to live music, and watching a variety of performers.  The Brewgrass will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both days.  The entire event is solar-powered and encourages a healthy, green atmosphere.  Gotta love craft beer!  See for more details.

August 8-9, 2009 – Big Beer Float River & Beer Festival (Ann Morrison Park Fountain Area, Boise, ID) – 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
With over 50 beers, live music, dozens of great vendors, kids events, a home-brewers challenge, costume contest and lots of other great events.  How about a $1000 gift certificate at Brewtopia Beer Market for the person who travels the farthest?  Good deal! Info to come at:

August 9, 2009 – Happy Magic 9th Day (Philadelphia, PA)
If you’re in Philly on August 9th, make sure to stop by The Irish Pol between 5:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. to try the fresh batch of Magic Hat’s Odd Notion for only $3 all night!  Being that Odd Notion is Magic Hat’s mystery beer, take a chance and try a glass!  See for further information.

August 10, 2009 – Sprecher and 96.5 WKLH Day at the Wisconsin State Fair (Glendale, WI)
Everyone’s welcome to the Central Mall at the Wisconsin State Fair for games, contests, and FUN!  From 10 AM – 5 PM there will be free activities for children with prizes for all participants, samples of Specher BBQ and mustards, a beer brewing demonstration by the Wisconsin Brewers Guild, Sprecher Gear for sale, available information about Glendale, and a chance to win 12 cases of Sprecher beverages.  From 10 AM to 3 PM you can get your photo put on a Sprecher Root Beer bottle and meet Rooty and Mid-America Stock Car Driver, Lyle Nowack.  There will also be two contests: from 1 – 3:30 p.m., be there to taste and vote for the winner of the Grilling with Beef, Sprecher Beer, and Keg-a-Que Contest and then stick around for the Sheboygan Brat Eating Contest at 4 p.m. which will feature 12 volunteers trying to eat as many brats as possible in 15 minutes!  Visit the State Fair page of to find out more about ticket promotions and for a $3 off coupon to the Wisconsin State Fair on August 10.

August 14, 2009 – Brew at the Zoo (Apple Valley, MN)
Lions and tigers and beers, oh my!  Come down to the Minnesota Zoo between 7 and 10 PM to relive your childhood trips to the zoo while sampling local domestic/microbrews.  Each guest will be allowed to keep their tasting glass, receive complimentary appetizers, and enjoy music by G.B. August 15, 2009 – Pucker Up Sour Fest (Philadelphia, PA)

August 28 – 30, 2009 – 11th Annual Nedfest (Nederland, CO)
Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Bring your friends and spend the weekend in Nederland, CO for the outdoor music and microbrew festival: Nedfest!  There will be at least eight microbreweries, food, different genres of music, arts & crafts, and gorgeous grounds to camp on.  And don’t worry, if you’re not done partying at the close of the festival, there will be late-night shows at the Black Forest Restaurant.  Party on!  More info at
