U.S. Craft Beers to be Showcased in London August 4-8, 2009

INTLFor the second year in a row, the Brewers Association’s Export Development Program will be participating in the Great British Beer Festival.  This year, the festival will consist of over 450 real ales, ciders, perries, and international beers.

The Brewers Association will be displaying U.S. craft beers in the “USA and Rest of World” section of the show.  The area will be “branded” with U.S. craft beer promotional materials and Brewers Association posters in order to expose American craft beers.

During the week of the festival, the Brewers Association will also be hosting a series of receptions for importers, distributors, retailers, and media.  At these receptions, beer from Brewers Association Export Development Program member breweries will be exclusively showcased.

Twenty-four Brewers Association Export Development Program members including Great Divide Brewing Company, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Left Hand Brewing Company, and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery will be sending beers to participate in the festival.

To help promote U.S. craft beers, Ron Lindenbusch of Lagunitas Brewing Co., Doug Odell of Odell Brewing Co., Greg Koch of Stone Brewing Co., Mitch Steele of Stone Brewing Co., and Bill Covaleski of Victory Brewing Co. will be in attendance.

The Brewers Association’s Export Development Program began in 2004. It has promoted its members’ beer in Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, China, Japan, the Philippines and Australia.

The Brewers Association is the not-for-profit trade and education association for small and independent American brewers, their craft beers, and the community of brewing enthusiasts. Visit the web site to learn more.
