Oh My Guinness! Ice Cream

coffee beer ice creamWhen it comes to desserts, I am the top baker in my family. I’m always up for trying new recipes and usually it’s a success. For the 4th of July, I’m hoping to make beer ice cream again. It was a hit the first time. I think it will be a hit again.

My Oh My Guinness! Ice Cream has a secret ingredient: beer. It’s fast and easy too. Unlike my other summer recipes, this one calls for stout. So don’t put away your dark beer just yet. You’ll be surprised how delicious this dessert turns out.

Note: It’s very important you pay attention to the stouts that you are using. For a sweeter taste, use Young’s Double Chocolate Stout or Rogue Ales’ Chocolate Stout. For those of you who are coffee lovers, try Jahva Imperial Coffee Stout.

-1 quart coffee ice cream
-1 cup stout
-1 cup of chocolate NESTLÉ®TOLL HOUSE® Morsels

1. Soften the ice cream by either leaving it out for 15 minutes or micro waving it for 15-30 seconds.
2. Place the ice cream in a bowl.
3. With an electrical mixer, mix in stout until it begins to soften.
4.  Add chocolate morsels.
5.  Pour the ice cream into small bowls and freeze until firm (Appx. 3-4 hours).

Makes 4 cups.
