OldBayMat-fullI LOVE themed restaurants and bars. Maybe it’s my inner child, but it makes me happy when places pick a theme, match the decorations, and name all their drinks and food to match the theme – it’s adorable! If you haven’t guessed yet Old Bay Restaurant is a Louisiana themed restaurant.

Even though its inspiration comes from the Deep South, its beers include more than just your average domestic bottles. Their bottled beer collection included beers from nine countries, including Japan ’s Sapporo, Mexico ’s Corona and Corona Light, Holland ’s Heineken, Heineken Light, Chimay Reserve, Corsendonk Brown Ale and Chimay Cinq Cents. They even have non-alcoholic beers O’Douls and Kaliber.

The atmosphere of the venue is family-friendly as it is a restaurant. If you stick to the bar area you are sure to find the 30-40 something crowd hanging out. They almost always have something additional going on most likely live entertainment from a band or something else to justify why there is a cover charge to get in.

If you’re going to Old Bay for more than just the bar save your money. The food is REALLY bad. Even if you don’t know much about classic Cajun, Creole or N’awlins Cuisine you’ll soon notice that there’s something off about the cuisine. The entertainment wasn’t that great either – some band that I found more annoying than entertaining. My advice: don’t go to Old Bay if you have other options.

Pros: Nice beer selection

Cons: Bad food and Cover charges… UNNECESSARY
