June 2- Belgian Beer Fest The second annual Belgian Beer Fest will take place at Sunswick 35-35 in Astoria. 25 draught beers will be available for tasting including: Delirium, Duvel, Gulden Draak, Kwak, Duchesse de Bregone. June 6-Civilization of Beer 101 The Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan will be holding a workshop about the basics of beer ingredients, brewing process, the difference between ale and lager, and more. We address the role craft and specialty beers play in today’s changing culinary landscape, taste some great beers and, above all, have a great time. This is a perfect course for people who have an interest, but need some guidance to begin to fully enjoy the affordable luxury that is beer. The workshop begins at 7PM. Tix are $65 per person.
June 7- 1st Annual Brooklyn Beer Experiment Veteran NYC cook-off champions Theo Peck and Nick Suarez will be hosting the 1st Annual Brooklyn Beer Experiment at the Bell House in Brooklyn from 1-5 PM. Amateur chefs will battle it out with dishes incorporating beer, while a separate homebrew-off will satisfy all of you local beer “nerds.” A judging panel of local food and beer aficionados will determine their favorites, with the audience tasting, voting and ultimately crowning the Brooklyn beer king or queen. June 7-Beers From The Boot at Lusso Enjoy a five-course dinner paired with rare beers from Italian microbrew producers like Baladin, Birrificio Barley, Birra del Borgo and Birrificio Italiano at this SoHo Italian newcomer. June 21 – “Grilling with Dad” Sprecher Brewing Company is the place to be for dads, moms and kids of all ages! Spend memorable quality time together with an array of activities in a unique setting. And don’t forget to bring your camera because you’ll want to capture the fun as you take a tour of the brewery; enjoy beverage samples and grill your own hot dogs; create a special gift and card for Dad; and play games like Bung Hole Toss, or Let’s Fish with a pole you’ve made all by yourself or with a little help from Dad. Members of the Milwaukee Iron Arena Football team will be at Sprecher from 12 noon until 3pm, signingautographs and giving away tickets for the June 26th game.
June 26-27 – 3rd annual San Diego International Beer Festival
Taste handcrafted beers at the San Diego County Fair during the 3rd Annual San Diego International Beer Festival (formerly known as the Craft Brewers Festival). June 27-28 -Northern Virginia Summer BrewFest
Vintage 50 Restaurant & Brew Lounge is hosting the second annual Northern Virginia Summer BrewFest “A Celebration of American Beer” at Morven Park, Leesburg, on June 27 and 28. The BrewFest will feature over 60 of America’s best breweries, a variety of food to complement the craft beers and great local and regional bands to entertain you.
Festival hours are from 11 AM – 9 PM on Saturday, and 11 AM – 7 PM Sunday. Tickets are $25 at the door, $20 in advance. Each admission ticket includes a commemorative Northern Virginia BrewFest sampling glass and 4 beer sampling tickets. Check out their next festival, which will take place October 24 and 25.
