The Hotel Café
1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90028
Tel: 323.461.2040

Hours of Operation:Varies by show, but usually around 7 pm until 2 pm.

Best Time to Go: This also varies by show, but they bring in the best bands on the weekend.

thehotelcafe11The Hotel Café is primarily known as a music venue, and rightfully so. They bring in a wide variety of bands, and have been known to draw some big names as well as have a keen ear for the new artists. For a medium sized music venue, you still have a great intimate feel when watching the band no matter how big. If for some reason the band is awful, they have a beautiful, classy little lounge closer to the entrance with its own separate bar. They do have food that includes some great Panini sandwiches, salads, and quesadillas. The drink prices are reasonable considering the seemingly upscale, club feel it exudes as you walk in. However, it really is just a non-pretentious bar and lounge that great bands love playing at, slightly covered with a thin club shell. My suggestion, go just a bit early for a show you want to see, enjoy a cocktail in the cushy lounge, then trade your cocktail for a bottled beer and go rock out next to the stage.

Pros: Great live music, classy club feel.

Cons: Expect to drop some cash for a cover

Rating: 4 out of 5
