the-officeWhen walking into The Office, it’s hard to tell if the place is a bar that serves food, or a restaurant that serves beer. You’ll experience it as whichever one you’re looking for – and if you’re in search of a great bar then you’re in luck.

In the heart of New Jersey’s restaurant capital, The Office offers beer fanatics a great atmosphere to sample beers from all over the world. The beer selection includes a wide variety of options in different sizes with 4 oz. samples, pints, yards and pitchers.

For the wheat beer lover, The Office has German Ayinger Brau Weisse and Franziskaner Hefeweizen as well as Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. The bar also offers Amber Ales Sam Smith Pale Ale and Indian Pale Ale Harpoon IPA. Light Beer Lovers can choose between Stella Artois, Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Light, and Michelob Ultra among others.

Additional beer options include classic pilsners, bocks, fruited & lambic beers, non-alcoholic beers, classic English bitters, malts, retro beers, porters and stouts.

The space is also a grill, so you can sit at a table and enjoy a meal with your beer until about a half hour before closing time or just enjoy your beer at the bar. Lunch and dinner options include all your typical American favorites, from burgers to seafood to sandwiches and pastas. You can also eat lighter with just an appetizer, salad or dessert. To help you make better decisions, the beer menu offers suggestions for which food items compliment your beer selection.

The neighborhood is a restaurant district as well as working district, so in the early afternoon after work hours you’re likely to find lots of professionals enjoying the happy hour, while later in the evening the space is populated by all different kinds of restaurateurs.

Pros: Wide selection of domestic and international beers

Cons: Food and cocktails aren’t that great
