Cranes offers some of the best new music in Hollywood with an up-close and personal setting. It’s the closest you can get in this town to a dive bar for young people looking to pay a reasonable price for a drink and listen to some great new artists. Situated a little off the beaten path north of Sunset, it’s just enough space to shed the glitz and glamour. It’s more of a typical, gritty and interesting kind of place you might find in Brooklyn or somewhere on the east side of Boston. The Bar staff is friendly, and attracts a neighborhood clientele which adds to the intimacy and comfort of the place. They have a great front and back porch to enjoy the warm night, including an outdoor bar in the back. Inside there are two rooms, the bar with a small lounge, and a little room with a stage for the music and dancing. If you’re in Hollywood, and you want to see how the great music scene in this town really flourishes, Cranes will give you a great time and a chance to meet some real characters.
Pros: Great music, great variety of people.
Cons: No food, limited space.
Rating: 4 out of 5
