Matt Sander’s Top Organic Brews
1.) Oxford Organic Raspberry Wheat—Clipper City Brewing Company, MD. A medium-full, semi-hazy wheat beer with nice raspberry aroma. The berry taste is not overwhelming but very complimentary against the yeast spiciness and the wheat malt.
2.) Pitfield’s Organic Red Ale—Pitfield Organic Brewing, UK. A thinly carbonated, nutty red with medium body and a creamy white head. This beer achieves all the highpoints of more classic examples of the red ale style, and does it all while remaining wholesome for the earth.
3.) Peak Organic Pale Ale—Peak Organic Brewing Company, ME. A lighter ale, true to the American pale style, but more reminiscent of an English version with its bready notes and aromas. The US-grown hop varieties give this beer a clean, citrus edge and a subtle dryness.
